Murang’a KCPE candidates to benefits with free transport curtesy of Women rep aspirant

Murang’a Women Representative Flashia Muthoni Chege will offer free transport to KCPE candidates in bid to motivate them.

Pupils from Kari, Gitaro and Gatundu primary schools will benefit from the program which will enable the candidates to sit for the exams while fresh after avoiding the morning hustles and sweats which sometimes steals away the minds of the pupils.

Muthoni who made the revelation after touring the three schools said if elected the second women representative for Murang’a, she will replicate the program to all public schools so that candidates.

“This is part of my ambitious program to motivate KCPE and KCSE candidates and if elected Women representative i will ensure that all public schools pupils will be ferried to their examination centers,” Muthoni said.

She also said in her 100 days of office, she will propose a bill which will compel university and secondary institutions to be releasing bursary monies to lactating students who deliver and drop out of schools.

She said her move will be geared to ensuring that students who become young mothers get financial support before they get back to school.

“One may wonder where the bursary allocation of the beneficiaries go in event that they drop school. When elected Women Representative I will ensure that the beneficiaries who drop school as s result of pregnancy so that they can get some financial support to cater for their young ones,” Muthoni added.

The candidate is seeking to succeed Sabina Wanjiru Chege as the second Women Representative after Chege announced plans to either contest for gubernatorial or Kigumo Mp.

She will be contesting through Governor Mwangi Wa Iria’s Usawa Kwa Wote Party and she will face off with Waithira Muithirania of Jubilee party and one of the candidates who will scoop United Democratic Alliance.

Her strengths in the race is that she is the only candidate with a stature of a woman who meets all the criteria to be called a mother and who can advise, caution and offer guidance to the Muranga and the Agikuyu community.

“I’m a woman who can actually be called maitu (mother) in accordance of Agikuyu tradition and first amongst equals who fits the bill to succeed Sabina Wanjiru Chege,” Muthoni said.
