A politician from Murang’a County is currently in exile at a neighboring elderly woman’s home after borrowing money and ending up in auction proceedings.
While lamenting in private, he could be heard strongly complaining to the locals about how the politicians he was associated with in the past have abandoned him in his current troubles.
“I campaigned for them with a pure heart and all my effort until they won their seats. They promised to support me to start a business. Now, my life has been disrupted,” he was heard complaining.
Polo’s troubles began to accumulate like a cloud of disaster when he switched camps from one politician to another with a debt of 400,000 shillings.
He had borrowed this money from one politician from the grassroots development fund but jumped ship to another politician before repaying the amount.
“Polo’s cunning plan was that the new politician would settle the debt for him. The desire to avoid repaying the loan led him astray. He forgot that politicians can be as cunning as seasoned tricksters,” our source explained.
Eventually, the two politicians negotiated, and that’s how Polo found himself in a dire situation.
“Despite promising to settle the debt, the politician from the new camp betrayed Polo and collaborated to have him auctioned,” our source said.
Polo was shocked one morning to see vehicles for seizing property at his gate, and his wife and two children had to flee, leaving him to face his embarrassment.
“At the moment, the guy has no wife, no home, and no money. His troubles are like a relentless shadow following him everywhere. Fortunately for him, an elderly woman has taken pity on him and has taken him in as a dependent,” our source added.
