Musalia Lauds NSSF Reforms, Praises Atwoli and Trade Unions for Their Role

Prime cabinet secretary Musalia Mudavadi has commended the ongoing transformation of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) linking its success to the constant support of the COTU leader Francis Atwoli and the larger trade union community.

Speaking in Shiongo village in Khwisero constituency, Kakamega County during the opening of the Khwisero Level IV Hospital, the cabinet secretary highlighted the critical role of NSSF savings in ensuring financial stability for the workers during retirement.

Mudavadi celebrated Atwoli, the COTU leadership and the trade unions for collaborating with the national government to implement a reawakened NSSF, mentioning the partnership to be a significant step towards steering national progress.

“I expressed appreciation to Atwoli, the COTU leadership, and trade union teams for standing with the government in implementing the revitalized NSSF. Their partnership is a testament to the power of collaboration in driving national progress. I also acknowledged the dynamic leadership in the Western region, whose dedication to uplifting communities is shaping a healthier, more prosperous society. As a government, we remain steadfast in supporting initiatives that improve livelihoods and drive economic growth.,” Musalia said.

He emphasized the importance of the collaboration in addressing workers’ needs and securing a better future for all Kenyans at large.

Acknowledging the spirited leadership in the Western region, Mudavadi praised them for the dedication in uplifting communities and noted it to greatly shape a healthier and prosperous society.

He also mentioned that the government would remain steadfast in supporting the initiatives that improve livelihoods and drive economic growth.

The event, presided over by the President William Ruto, was also attended by several dignitaries including the Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Moses Wetangula, cabinet members and other leaders.
