Mwangi Kiunjuri: I will make a major declaration in March

Former Cabinet Secretary and leader to the Service party (TSP) has said that he will make a major announcement in march regarding the political affiliation he will support in August.

Kiunjuri was speaking at the TSP party office when he received former Gilgil MP Mathenge Nderitu to the party.

About two weeks ago, Kiunjuri received former Igembe North legislator Joseph M’eruaki to the party. He also received Martin Luther king Githigaro from UDA.

Kiunjuri has blamed Jubilee party vice-chairman David Murathe after he claimed the TSP is a member of Azimio la Umoja.

“I want to clear the air and state that, I haven’t joined Azimio la Umoja but in March I will make it clear on the affiliation I will support ahead of August election, “he said.

Kiunjuri said that he will only work with leaders who will respect his decision.

He said that he has never held any meeting with Azimio officials but TSP will only have a coalition that will support the people of Mount Kenya region. “he said.

He said that Mount Kenya parties will play a key role in uniting the region and thus they should be united.

He said that every political party must retreat and make the best decision aimed at empowering its people.

He castigated leaders who claims they can work without leaders from the Mount Kenya region.

“You can’t climb Mount Kenya without the support of William Kabogo, Martha Karua, Kiraitu Murungi, Mwangi Wa Iria and Mwangi Kiunjuri among others, “he said.

He said that in Laikipia County, the battle will be between the UDA party allied to the deputy president and his party.

On becoming Ruto’s running mate, Kiunjuri said that he is currently concentrating on his Laikipia east parliamentary bid and marketing his party.

He said that people are wondering why he has chosen to vie for parliamentary instead of that of the governor.

“Parliamentary seat is the best for me, it is in the parliament where decisions are made to govern the County, “he said.
