Businessman Holy Field Miyogi is facing court charges related to an alleged conspiracy to defraud Acacus Trading Kenya Limited of Sh47 million. The accusations involve the theft of various items of fashion retail stock.
Miyogi, who appeared before Kibera Senior Principal Magistrate Margret Murage, entered a plea of not guilty and sought a lenient bond term. According to the charge sheet, Miyogi, along with others not currently facing charges, is accused of committing the theft between August 1, 2023, and October 30, 2023, at Wetlands in Gigiri Sub-County within Nairobi County.
In defense of Miyogi, his legal team argued for his release on bond, emphasizing that he presented no flight risk—a stance not contested by court prosecutor Allan Mogere. Concurrently, an arrest warrant was issued for three other suspects—Peris Kiok, Nicole Masika, and Maurine Masika—who failed to appear in court for plea-taking despite being released on police cash bail.
The court granted Miyogi a Sh2 million bond with an alternative cash bail of Sh200,000, requiring a surety of the same amount. The case is set for mention and further directions at a later date.
