Njogu wa Njoroge replaces Moses Kanyira as Morning show host at Kayu FM

Once popular vernacular radio presenter Njogu wa Njoroge is back on airwaves after a humiliating defeat in pursuit for a parliamentary seat.

Njogu who worked for Kameme FM, becoming one of the most listened presenter in Kenya will start the job in a new station tomorrow.

He was eyeing the Njoro parliamentary seat but was defeat in UDA nominations, forcing him to go off radar.

He will start a new job at Kayu FM which was started recently by businesswoman Rose Kimotho, the pioneer of Kameme FM now in the hands of Kenyatta family.

Today morning he told his fans he will report job tomorrow and captioned it with a Biblical verse.

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, iam doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland”.

Njogu’s journey in media was successful, even getting access to State House to meet President Uhuru Kenyatta but in 2016 left Kameme which is under MediaMax for Gukena FM, another Kikuyu radio station owned by Radio Africa Group.

His popularity fell but in January last year he returned Kameme TV and later radio but his star there was dim.

It is claimed he wanted some superior role but that did not materialise. He decided to fight Uhuru by joining his new nemesis DP William Ruto.

“He though Uhuru would give him a bigger role in the station. And shockingly his fans did not take him that serious. He vowed to betray Uhuru”.

At Ruto’s camp he was humiliated. He alleged the nomination process was not fair but he conceded deafeat.

It is not yet clear if he will get a senior position or the breakfast show at Kayu FM.

The new station has picked the once popular presenters at Kameme FM like PM Squared, comedian Machang’i Man Solo Papa, Moses Kanyira and Evans Wanyoike.
