NLP Leader Augustus Muli Condemns Azimio La Umoja for His Replacement in Selection Panel
In a heated political dispute, the National Liberal Party (NLP) Leader, Augustus Muli, has criticized the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition for what he describes as an illegal replacement of his position within the selection panel.
Muli was originally appointed to the panel, but has now been substituted by Ambassador Koki Muli, a move he strongly opposes.
Muli has condemned the decision by Azimio, asserting that his appointment was lawful and proper. He is now threatening legal action if his position is not reinstated and gazetted alongside the other members of the panel.
“This move by the Azimio Outfit is not just unfair, it’s illegal. I was duly appointed to the taskforce, and I demand to be recognized and gazetted with the rest,” Muli stated.
The selection panel, which has been given a three-month timeframe, is responsible for finalizing its recruitment exercise and submitting the list of nominees to the president.
Following the submission, the panel will be dissolved unless Parliament decides to extend its mandate.
