Information Communication and Technology Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo has had three meetings with professionals from different sectors from Nyanza Region and planners of Nyanza International Innovation Confrence this week.
The preparatory meeting started on Wednesday where he holds sitting with architects, engineers and quantity surveyors. On Thursday he met doctors and health professionals from same region and concluded on Friday with lawyers.
CS Owalo said President Ruto will officially open and give a Keynote speech at the conference scheduled on June 28 and 29.
The head of state will lead a team of local and international investors to exploit the unexploited potential investment opportunities in the region.
Speaking at preparatory meeting with lawyers in Nairobi Serena hotel he said he had talks with Raila Odinga and agreed to join forthcoming conference.
“As a leader from Nyanza, Raila has wide experience with the development opportunities of the region and available untapped opportunities which should be exploited and his presence is key for the summit,” he said.
The first Nyanza International Investment Conference is scheduled to be hosted in Kisumu by Nyanza Professional’s Forum (NPF), in collaboration with the six county governments domiciled in the former Nyanza Province: Homa Bay, Kisii, Kisumu, Migori, Nyamira and Siaya.
The conference is set to foster social-economic growth and development through escalated private sector investing and sustained public sector support or enabling investments.
NPF’s strategic objective aims to offer technical support to the Region’s development cause and engage aggressively in sustainable investing across sectors to trigger and sustain economic growth in the region as a way of giving back to communities and counties in the region over and with time.
The conference will bring together local communities, the County Governments, National Government and investors invested in various solicited and unsolicited opportunities
“The main purpose of the conference is to provide an opportunity for the region’s, leaders professionals, national, international and locals stakeholders to showcase region economic endowment and to present investment opportunities to potential investors” said Owalo.
Nyanza International Investment Conference will take place on 28th-29 June 2024 at Ciala Resort, Kisumu, Kenya. The conference will officially opened by H.E President William Ruto on 28 June 2024.
