The combination of Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku and Narok senator Ledama Ole Kina will most likely net in close to one million votes to the Azimio La Umoja Presidential candidate Raila Odinga.

The duo was selected to lead Azimio Campaigns in the Maa region; mostly Narok and Kajiado Counties that jointly have over 800,000 votes.

They will also target Maasai’s living in Laikipia and Samburu Counties.

ODM secretary General Edwin Sifuna has said that the coalition has 100 percent trust in the duo who will also be helped by other aspirants.

” We have our targets set and our confidence in governor Lenku and senator Ledama is overwhelming to the levels we want,” Sifuna said.

Governor Lenku is seeking reelection on the ODM ticket just as senator Ledama Ole Kina.

When he joined ODM in March,Lenku promised to deliver over 25 ward seats in Kajiado to the Azimio team.

Opinion leaders in Kajiado opine that Lenku has managed to successfully overcome the challenges that were threatening his reelection. They have tipped him to edge off his main rival David Nkedianye who served as the first Governor but also contesting within the Azimio Coalition under the armpits of Jubilee party.

Lenku is currently serving as the spokesman of the Maa region- a highly respected position that has been held by the likes of former powerful minister William Ole Ntimama and former Vice President George Saitoti.

Lenku’s star rose when he was appointed to serve as the Cabinet Secretary for Interior Security.

On the other side, senator Ledama has emerged as vocal defender of Maa people both in the senate and outside on other community related issues.

Ole Kina is also a close ally of ODM leader Raila Odinga and his youthful age is deemed as a major gift to the coalition.

On Sunday, the two are expected to hosted Azimio La Umoja running mate Martha Karua where they will hold several rallies in Kajiado County.
