On May 9th, a 14-year-old girl disappeared after arriving at the Nairobi Railways terminus. Her family tried to contact her but her calls went unanswered.

It was later discovered that she was taken by Parkins Odero, one of three suspects who were arrested in connection to her disappearance.

Odero allegedly took her to Riruta Satellite in Dagoretti where she was defiled before being handed over to the second suspect, Alfred Matumona, who is also accused of defiling her.

The third suspect, Jackline Mangea, was arrested for allegedly assisting in harboring the minor. The three suspects were charged in court on May 15.

In a separate case on May 3, Elly Ochieng Oyoo was charged with aiding his housemate, Alloys Ouma, to escape punishment for an offense of defilement of a child.

Ouma had taken a 17-year-old girl to the house they shared in Sabasaba area within Embakasi East in Nairobi. Oyoo was accused of assisting by harboring Ouma and failing to report to the police.

The family of the 17-year-old girl found out that she was living with Ouma and went to the house to look for her, but Ouma and the girl had already fled. The girl was later found and traced. She revealed that she had been living with Ouma and had left her school bag, clothes, and books at the house where Ouma and Oyoo lived. Ouma is still at large.
