Well, I am not really a pastor. Don’t get me wrong, I used to be a man of God, preaching the gospel to lost souls.
But now I don’t even believe the gospel myself. So why should I preach about something I don’t believe in? That’s life. Life is complicated or people are just complicated and hard to understand.
Take my wife for example, she was a jewel, or so I thought. She was this model wife, every man dreams of.
Beautiful, loyal and someone who helped me achieve my biggest dream of opening one of the greatest churches in Nairobi.
We were like a King and Queen in our church. It is what we both wanted and dedicated all our lives to. But maybe it wasn’t enough or she was just good at pretending.
In March this year, I woke up late at night only to find my wife missing from our bed. I was surprised as that had never happened. I walked around the house and found her in the prayer room. She was in serious prayers with one of the boys we house at our place.
Something looked out of place, they all had this guilty look. After prayers, she told me she had felt an urgent need to talk to God at that time because it was so calm.
It was around 1 AM. She said the boy, who was an altar boy at our church, had joined her in prayer.
From that day, I noticed something that I hadn’t noticed for a long time. My wife gave this altar boy special attention. He was always dressed in designer suits. When I checked our accounts, I found my wife used to withdraw a lot of money without any concrete purpose.
I got disturbed with all these findings. I didn’t want to imagine that my wife Theresa was having an affair. Just to imagine that was a sin.
But there was only one way to find out. As much as I believed in God, I needed other interventions to put my doubts to bed.
