This week both Kenya Kwanza Alliance and Azimio La Umoja movement have scheduled series of political rallies in different parts of the country.
Today deputy president William Ruto will lead his Kenya Kwanza Alliance brigade to lower eastern region popularly known as Ukambani region. The region is perceived to be Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka stronghold.
The Kenya Kwanza Alliance brigade will camp in Machakos county which is one of the three counties in lower eastern region. They will make two stop overs at Athi River and Mlolongo towns in the county.
” Let’s meet Athi River and Mlolongo, Machakos county tomorrow” wrote UDA national coordinator Peter Kamau alias Don on his official Facebook page.
Several leaders from the region allied to UDA party are expected to accompany the Kenya Kwanza brigade led by former Machakos senator and UDA national chairman Johnstone Muthama. Other legislators expected includes Machakos Town MP Victor Munyaka, Mwala MP Vincent Musau and Kitui East legislator Nimrod Mbai.
Majority of leaders from Machakos county are allied to Azimio La Umoja movement. Machakos governor Alfred Mutua and his team has already endorsed Raila’s presidential bid while Wiper legislators have joined Azimio movement after their party leader Kalonzo Musyoka shelved his bid in favour of Raila.
On the other hand Azimio movement brigade will camp in Kisii and Nairobi counties. Nairobi legislators allied to Azimio movement will lead a series of political rallies in Kasarani and Embakasi Central constituencies.
The team famously known as Nairobi Azimio movement will begin their rallies at Roysambu then head to Kasarani constituency for two rallies at Mwiki and Njiru shopping centre. Later in the evening the team will hold a mega rally at Umama grounds in Embakasi Central Constituency.
Several legislators will grace the rallies led by Makadara legislator and Nairobi ODM chair George Aladwa and ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna. Other legislators expected includes Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, Kasarani MP Mercy Gakuya, nominated MP Maina Kamanda and former Dagoretti South MP Dennis waweru.
Another Azimio movement brigade will camp in Kisii county. The team will be hosted by Kisii senator Sam Ongeri at Nyanturage stadium in Kisii.
Kisii Senator Sam Ongeri will officially launch his Kisii gubernatorial bid in the Azimio La Umoja rally. The senator will officially join the race of succeeding governor James Ongwae who is serving his last term in office.
Leaders allied to Democratic action party of Kenya alias DAP-K party are expected to grace the rally led by defense cabinet secretary Eugene Wamalwa. Other leaders expected includes Kandunyi legislator Wafula Wamunyinyi who doubles as DAP-K party leader, Tongaren MP Eseli Simiyu, Lugari MP Ayub Savula among other elected leaders.
Democratic action party of Kenya is one of the affiliate parties in larger Azimio La Umoja movement.
