Ruto: New Cabinet Must Address Kenyans’ High Expectations

President William Ruto has urged his newly appointed Cabinet to prioritize serving the people of Kenya above all else.

In a speech following their swearing-in ceremony on Thursday, Ruto emphasized that personal interests should not interfere with their duties. He encouraged the new Cabinet members to focus on the effective delivery and implementation of programs essential for the country’s progress.

“I urge you to concentrate on delivering results and dedicating your time and effort to implementing the strategies, programs, and projects necessary for the nation’s transformation,” Ruto stated. “Make the people of Kenya your first and only priority and let nothing obstruct your commitment to your responsibilities.”

The President assured the new Cabinet Secretaries of his full support as they undertake their duties. He pledged to lead by example, demonstrating good stewardship of public resources and accountability.

Ruto highlighted that Kenyans have clearly expressed their expectations, showing zero tolerance for failure, inefficiency, corruption, and incompetence.

“As champions of the nation’s development agenda, you must be team players, servant leaders, faithful custodians of public trust, and diligent stewards of the people’s resources,” he said.

He expressed confidence that the new Cabinet members possess the capabilities needed to meet their mandates and fulfill public expectations. Ruto stressed that this Cabinet’s mission is one that must succeed.

“The women and men appointed to this high office have embarked on a mission that cannot and must not fail,” he asserted. “You have been given the privilege of serving in these crucial roles with the immense responsibility of ensuring that Kenyans receive the best possible services efficiently, impartially, and promptly.”

The 19 new Cabinet Secretaries, who took their oaths at State House, Nairobi, include Kithure Kindiki, Soipan Tuya, John Mbadi, Justin Muturi, Aden Duale, Alice Wahome, Julius Ogamba, Davis Chirchir, Rebecca Miano, Hassan Joho, Alfred Mutua, Eric Muuga, Salim Mvurya, Debra Barasa, Kipchumba Murkomen, Opiyo Wandayi, Margaret Ndung’u, Wycliffe Oparanya, and Dr. Andrew Karanja.
