Ruto Picks team to Lead Campaigns in Mt Kenya and nominations

Deputy President William Ruto has unveiled three key allies to lead his campaign team in the vote-rich Mount Kenya region ahead of the August polls.

Comprising of Members of Parliament Alice Wahome, Rigathi Gachagua and Senator Kithure Kindiki, Ruto affirmed that they would pitch camp in the region in order to solicit votes for his Presidential bid. 

Further, Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi and his FORD-Kenya counterpart, Moses Wetangula would lead the campaigns in the Western region.

“We need brave people to unite together. From Gachagua, Wahome, Kindiki, Wetangula and Mudavadi so that we can form a national government,” Ruto spoke in Tharaka Nithi County on Saturday, February 19. 

The three, perceived as the favourite to clinch the running mate slot, would play a critical role as the DP continues with his charm offensive in the Mt Kenya region. 

Further, the DP moved in to quell a looming scramble for the party ticket in the country with the possibility of fallout among the allies.
