Ruto steps up offensive against Uhuru-Raila

Deputy President William Ruto and his allies on Sunday during a public rally in Kiambu County accused President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga of over taxing hustlers with the recently proposed budget.

Ruto claimed that the hustlers who form part of the population weren’t consulted and thus he will rally his supporters in the national assembly and senate to shoot it down and in case it’s passed he will revise it once he assumes office.

He said this when he toured the Kiambaa constituency and Limuru and was accompanied by leaders eyeing UDA tickets and those in Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

He was accompanied by Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwah, former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu, Kiambaa legislator Njuguna Wanjiku, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, Rigathi Gachagua (Mathira) among others.

Others included Former Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu, Kimani Wamatangi,Karungo Wa Thangwa and hosts of UDA aspirants.

 Ruto used the opportunity to castigate President Uhuru Kenyatta and his allies for failing to concentrate on the big 4 agenda.

He said the Kwanza Kenya Alliance will not allow a few people to seat in hotels and offices and dictate to Kenyans who will be their President.

“There are people who have organized themselves in offices and hotels and who want to create a government for the rich. We say no,”, will also shoot down the budget that they are proposing but in case they pass it, within three months, I will form a supplementary budget that will accommodate hustlers,” Ruto said.

Ruto said that he was better placed to sort out the many problems Kenyans are facing since he had grown in poverty like most of them. He said that Raila Odinga has no record to show to the Country and deserves to retire in Bondo peacefully.

“I wish President Uhuru Kenyatta endorsed someone else to face me but no Kitendawili, we, we will place him in a wheelbarrow and take him to Bondo,” He said.

The DP further accused Uhuru Kenyatta of forcing voters to elect ODM leader Raila Odinga in the August 9 General Election. He said that the Kenya Kwanza coalition will be keen on changing the face of politics in Kenya.

Ruto also accused Kenyatta of failing to honor his 2017 election promises and using state institutions to persecute political opponents and they won’t allow the constitution to be changed to favor the few.

Mr. Ruto promised that his government will set priorities that will only favor common mwananchi by introducing universal healthcare, infrastructure as well as security.

Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo and Tharaka-Nithi senator Kithure Kindiki, Ferdinand Waititu as well as Moses requested president Uhuru to retire without dictating on whom Kenyans should vote for as the next President, just like former President Mwai Kibaki did.

Kabogo said that he consulted widely on the grassroots level before endorsing William Ruto’s candidature.

He said that he is optimistic that Ruto will be the next president and Kenyans should shun Raila Odinga and his divisive politics.

“Mimi si Mchawi, lakini ninanjua Ruto ni yeye rais wetu wa tano (I’m no longer a witch doctor but I know Ruto will be our next president in August,” Kabogo said.

Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro said that President Uhuru Kenyatta has neglected his people of the Mount Kenya region.

His Mathira counterpart Rigathi Gachagua said that President Uhuru Kenyatta is a total letdown to the people of Mount Kenya.

He said that Raila Odinga’s legacy is known and Kenyans haven’t forgotten.

Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi accused the Jubilee administration of burdening common Mwananchi.

He said that the life of Kenyans has become too hard and Kenyans should vote for William Ruto to restructure the economy.

He said that Kenyatta’s government has increased public debt by 7-trillion shillings ($61.32bn) from nearly 2-trillion shillings since assuming office in 2013.

Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwa said that the handshake between Uhuru Kenyatta has destroyed the economy.

He said that Raila Odinga has destabilized most of the Jubilee projects that they had under our Big 4 agenda and crippled the economy.

“We have incurred huge losses through MTU wa kitendawili and we cannot allow him to lead us… we are saying no to his leadership because he operates on deceit and conman ship,’ he said.
