Sad Ending to These Former Prefects of Kenyatta High School

Life has turned ugly for three old boys of Kenyatta High School Mahiga in Nyeri County who were prefects albeit in different times.

Two of them were dormitory prefects while the other a class prefect. They were obedient learners but later in life two have been associated with different murder cases and the other committed suicide.

They are Philip Onyancha, the self-confessed serial killer and businessman Joseph Kori who alongside his alleged lover was arrested and investigated by police over death of his wife Wambui Kamangara.

The other alumni is Patrick Nderitu who killed his wife and their three children then burnt himself to death in their house at Maraba Village, Juja in January 2018.

However, Kenyatta High School is a notable school that for more than 60 years has produced notable people.

Onyancha who was jailed for 12 years in 2010 for killing 18 women and children was a class prefect while in Form Two. He completed fourth form in 1998 and Kori in 1999.

Onyancha who was described as disciplined, molested junior students and was stripped off the position then suspended for two weeks but was allowed to come back.

Kori and Nderitu were dorm captains during their separate years. Nderitu killed his family and himself after he was conned about Sh1 million by a classmate who was a library captain there.
