Several people were injured when chaos rocked Kanduyi constituency Orange Democratic Movement party election.

Kicks and blows were witnessed during the meeting with two factions engaging in a brawl. Supporters allied to two contestants for constituency chairmanship fought each other over who should lead them.

The meeting was meant to harmonise the list of party officials from the eight wards which was postponed indefinitely after chaos broke out.

The grassroot meeting was led by county ODM chairman Ali Balala but it failed to materialise as the two factions clashed.

The chaotic meeting saw a faction allied to Kanduyi constituency chairman, who is also the Bungoma township ward MCA Joseph Maguda fight with those of his bitter rival Raphael Wanyama.

The meeting convened by the National Elections Board had given Balala the mandate to oversee it.

Maguda blamed Balala for trying to force some members into the party through the back door.

Wanyama claimed the party primaries were held on October 25, and the results were well received at the party headquarters.
