The Eldama Ravine Magistrate’s Court has ordered the Koibatek SubCounty Criminal Investigations Officer (SCIO) to investigate allegations by a suspect in an illicit brew case that she bribed a senior police officer.
Eldama Ravine Senior Principal Magistrate Richard Koech ordered the SCIO to furnish the court with his findings on the matter on October 12.
This follows allegations by Yvonne Jepchirchir that she gave Sh50,000 to the Officer Commanding the Eldama Ravine Station to buy her freedom from prosecution after she was found in possession of changaa.
Jepchirchir is facing charges of being in possession of an alcoholic drink that does not conform to the requirements of Alcoholic Drinks Control Act No.4 of 2010.
