Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku continues to reap big from the ongoing mass defections in the county ahead of the August 9 poll.
His latest big catch is Tarayia Ole Kores who has dropped his gubernatorial bid and vowed to rally behind him.
Kores had declared interest in the seat under the ODM party ticket and has joined the Lenku team with his entire campaign team.
In his message to Kajiado residents, ores attributed his defection on the need to support the incumbent finish his projects and for the sake of unity in the county.
“We want to see progress and continuity in our county and the best decision now is for everyone to rally behind the incumbent,” Kores said.
Kores was the chairman for Kajiado County Council for 10 years and local authorities in Africa for five years.He has been a critical and vocal voice in national and county politics.
Governor Lenku has welcomed his move, noting that he is ready to work with all leaders in the county.
“We are welcoming everybody but today we are happy to recieve a true son of the soil who knows what Kajiado needs,” Lenku said.
The Governor has recently received Matapato South MCA Hosea Toshi who ditched UDA for Jubilee.
Lenku has also bagged key allies of Kajiado East MP Peris Tobiko who ditched her to support his reelection.They are Michael Rakoi and Kimani Namboto.
Lenku has already submitted his papers to the Jubilee secretariat.
