Taveta Member of Parliament John Bwire has reaffirmed his commitment to improving the lives of his constituents through key investments in education, agriculture, and infrastructure.
During a community engagement in Kitobo Location, the MP presented a bursary cheque of Ksh 1,367,000, benefiting 152 students at Kitobo Secondary School.

To further encourage academic excellence, he donated bicycles to top-performing students, easing their commute and motivating them to excel in their studies.
Speaking at the event, Bwire emphasized the importance of leadership through action.
He further engaged local farmers on ways to improve rice farming at Buruma, alongside Dr. Menjo, the President’s Advisor on Food Security.
The discussions focused on enhancing productivity and supporting farmers in boosting their yields to improve food security and economic stability.
On infrastructure, he was accompanied by KeRRA Regional Director Eng. Mule, introduced the community to the contractor overseeing the ongoing maintenance of Madarasani Road.
He assured residents of continued improvements in the road network, noting that better infrastructure is crucial for economic growth.
He further invited residents to the launch of the Taveta-Njukini-Illasit Road on February 28, 2025, a project to be presided over by President Dr. William Ruto.
The road is expected to enhance connectivity and trade opportunities in the region.
