Popular Kikuyu secular singer Eddie Gathenge jumped Form three and not because he was such a bright student but out of indiscipline.

The musician nearly suspended his education but realised he needed it to have a better future.
Gathenge hails from Kiharu, Murang’a county and after his Primary education he joined Murang’a High school.
Here, the third born in a family of five was suspended while in Form two because of indiscipline.
He stayed out of school for an year before joining Kiangoci Secondary School in Murang’a where in first term at Form three he was among students who beat up the head boy.

He was expelled again and spent another year at home doing menial jobs and;
“smoking illegal stuff. I was reckless and cared less” Gathenge revealed in a recent interview.
After a whole year out of school he rejoined the school after he apologised to his father and promised to behave.
He joined Form four but paid the whole fees for the Form three to allow him skip that academic year.

He scored B+ and is currently pursuing a degree in gynecology at Kenyatta University.
