Rebecca Miano, the nominee for the Cabinet Secretary position in Tourism and Wildlife, has outlined her qualifications and experience, arguing why she is the ideal candidate for the role.
Miano, who has held various senior positions, including a five-year tenure as CEO, emphasized her extensive experience in leadership, organizational management, operations, finance, and strategic planning.
“In my previous roles, I developed critical skills that have prepared me well for this new position,” she stated.
She highlighted her strengths in strategy formulation and execution, noting her ability to rally teams towards achieving work plans and fulfilling mandates. “I have a deep understanding of government operations and the strategies and policies currently being implemented,” Miano added.
As a lawyer and Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, Miano showcased her broad experience during her vetting. She is one of ten nominees poised to return to the Cabinet pending Parliamentary approval.
Previously nominated for the role of Attorney General, Miano was the Trade CS until her recent nomination. She also served in the roles of EAC, ASALs & Regional Development. President William Ruto’s new Cabinet excludes members from the previous administration, with Miano being a notable exception.
