Tusker See off Gor Mahia to Hold on to KPL Lead

Football Kenya Federation [FKF] Premier League defending champs Gor Mahia F.C had their chance to secure three points from league  leaders Tusker after beating K’Ogalo 2-1 during a match played at the famous Machakos stadium.
The former champs have now 33 points out of 17 matches played followed  by Kenya police with 30 points out of 16 matches.
 KCB, has 28 points out of 16 matches played with the defending champs having 24 points  out of 16 matches, sharing the same position with Sofapaka.
FKF Premier League giant killers Shabana Football Club occupies 6th  position in the standing table with 24 points out of 17 matches played with Bandari football club occupying the 7th  position out of 19 matches played.
At the weekend fixture held at Kenya Ports Authority [KPA] Mbaraki sports club the hosts were forced to share a point each with Shabana football club with one goal each.
The visiting team was first  to score through Brian Muchire with the hosts fighting tooth and nail to equalized  through  Joseph Otieno on the second half of the well-attended match.
Speaking during an interview the state corporation’s head of  Technical Bench Ken Odhiambo said luck was not on his side despite creating the best scoring  opportunities and chances compared to the visiting team.
He refuted claims that football is about entertaining only saying the bottom  line is about the final results.
“We did the best we could from where the team came from,” he pointed out.
Shabana FC  coach Peter Okidi told the media that his team got it right on the first half to ensure the get  a goal with the unfamiliar weather and territory in the coast region.
He said his boys were playing against the hot weather and ensured they were not caught  into the 90th minute of the play.
‘’The coastal  weather was not  on our side and that is why we had ensure we score on the first whistle on the  game,” he added.
