Kimilili Member of Parliament Hon Didmus Barasa has threatened to quit the United Democratic Alliance Party as Johnson Muthama blocks plans by Amani National Congress Party Leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya Party Leader Moses Wetangula.

Didmus Barasa has said that the push by Mudavadi and Wetangula to have only ANC and Ford file candidates in the Western region will not be tolerated explaining that zoning encourages laziness in a party and kills political careers.

According to Barasa, he has said that in any case that DP Ruto will allow being driven by the desires of Mudavadi and Wetangula then, he will quit the UDA party and run as an independent instead of being locked out of the race.View pictures in App save up to 80% data.

“If you have developed a team of strong aspirants, they will win regardless of the party. I do not advocate for zoning. Those pushing for zoning want to kill the political careers of others,” said Mr. Barasa.

UDA National Chairman Johnson Muthama has also recorded saying that they will not allow parties to practice zoning as part of their agreement telling Mudavadi and Wetangula teams that the UDA party will also be fielding candidates in their bedroom.

“We are going to have candidates in every elective position. The interest of ANC, UDA, and Ford-Kenya is to front a united team to face our competitors. We are not going to allow segregation of parties,” Muthama said.
