It is now emerging that EALA MP-elect Winnie Odinga to some extent funded Azimio La Umoja leader Raila Odinga’s August presidential campaigns.
Winnie has openly admitted that she was fully involved in her father’s campaigns, which has been echoed by ODM’s Communication boss Philip Etale.
Etale says that so interested was Winnie in seeing that her dad got the seat that she even had to use money from her own pockets at times.
He adds that the young Odinga wanted everything done perfectly to enable her dad beat President William Ruto, even though the dream flopped.

He has at the same time dismissed those terming Winnie just a coattail hanger to Raila, maintaining that she is her own brand and knows what she is doing.
But he says that she is slightly different from Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s son Kennedy, also elected to EALA, who is not as outspoken and vibrant.
“Winnie is her own self and not just brand Odinga. She will be lively in the assembly but Kennedy has been there and he is going for the second term,” Etale is further quoted.
