In Murang’a county some leaders want the former Senator Kembi Gitura to make a comeback.
Julius Kaberere, a UK-based technocrat has asked residents to re-elect Gitura come 2022 to replace the incumbent Irungu Kang’ata.
In the last term Gitura was the deputy Speaker of the Senate and the current Senator is the Senate Majority Whip.
Kaberere describes Gitura as the best Senator Murang’a County had.
Irungu Kang’ata.
“Coming from being Kenya’s Ambassador to the European Union, Senator Kembi Gitura used tact, diplomacy and great negotiation skills to have the Senate adopt Jubilee motions and business as the Deputy Speaker. That’s why he stands out. Were he to contest the Senate’s seat in 2022!. I would vote for him. Would you?” Kaberere stated on his Facebook platform.
Kaberere who dropped out of Murang’a gubernatorial race in 2017 campaigned for Gitura against Kang’ata of Jubilee.

The technocrat is also said to eye the Kandara seat currently held by MP Alice Wahome.
