Harun Aydin, the Turk who was involved in Deputy President William Ruto aborted trip to Uganda was Monday deported to Turkey according to police.

Aydin who was part of DP William Ruto’s entourage to Uganda was arrested on Saturday by immigration officials at the Wilson Airport for questioning after landing from Uganda.

He was expected to appear in court Monday morning after authorities accused him of being involved in terrorist activities.

Aydin’s legal team led by  lawyer Ahmednassir Abdullahi say they are going to seek a judicial review as they pursue all legal avenues to bring back the businessman who is said to have a legal working permit that expires in 2023.

He also alleged that the Office of Director of Public Prosecutions did not find any grounds to charge Aydin in court.

Ahmednasir spoke outside Kiambu law court where he had gone to represent his deported client in the company of Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi.

” As his lawyers, we will challenge the process to deport him, because deportation is done according to certain procedure and laws. The government cannot just deport somebody just because they’re a friend to the deputy president, that’s not an offence. So we will challenge that and bring him back to this country, whether it is this year or next year or the other year, it doesn’t matter.” He said

Aydin had been arrested by DCI sleuths on Saturday evening on reasons yet to be made clear.

Sudi has termed the arrest and failure by ODPP to present the businessman in court as a political act.

“Hii mambo yote ni siasa…huyo mwekezaji Harun ninamjua kutoka kule kwao, niliomba ya kwamba kama anashikwa, wanishike na mimi…na kama ni terrorrist, pia mimi ni terrorrist. Sasa kwa sababu ya ukora ya siasa ya Kenya hii, wameshindwa kumleta kortini, imebidi wamdeport,” he stated.

This comes as different references were made to a different 29-year-old Harun Aydin who was arrested in 2001 in Germany on allegations related to terrorism but later released after the prosecution failed to give enough evidence.
