Why Nelson Havi has transferred his vote to Westland ahead of 2022

Law Society of Kenya President Nelson Havi has formally announced his entry into the murky political waters and is eyeing the Westlands parliamentary seat on Amani National Congress (ANC) party.

Havi, who hails from Likuyani constituency in Kakamega county, also changed his voting centre to Hospital Hill Primary School in Parklands ward. The seat is currently held by Timothy Wanyonyi, who is serving his second term on an ODM ticket.

Although Wanyonyi has not publicly declared that he will be defending his seat, there are speculations that he is eyeing the Nairobi gubernatorial seat in the next polls.

“I have come to indicate that I will be vying for the position of a member of National Assembly for Westlands constituency. As democracy puts it, your vote is the best place where you are.

Here in Westlands is where I do business, here is where I studied, here is where I want to serve.

No place would be better than Westlands,” said Havi and urged eligible Kenyans to register as voters.
