Why Staff in Nairobi Restaurants are Selling Bad Food to Some Customers

Staff working in some city restaurants have devised a way of punishing rude customers yelling and insulting them when ordering for food.

A cook based in a CBD restaurant reveals how they retaliate on impolite and disrespectful customers by selling them what they call ‘special meal’.

Special meal is the stale food or food that is deliberately contaminated in the kitchen then served to ill-mannered customers.

He explains; “This is done when we feel the customer is not only ill-mannered but arrogant and a nuisance to other customers. The impatient customers who yell and use vulgar language to staff”.

So when customer is flagged as rude, cooks are instructed to make his or her order a special one. This is done by spitting on the said food and blending it with expired ingredients. Snacks like sausages, smokies and mandazis are rubbed against sweaty armpits or dirty floors.

Food is deliberately contaminated in the kitchen.

“When the meal is served we watch contentedly as they munch it. I know it sounds wicked but we do for extreme cases of bad-mannered customers. It is happens across restaurants. It is same way in a pub if you become extremely a nuisance you are served a flat beer or beaten up” he reveals.
