WRA CEO Mohammed Shurie Tops List of Kenya’s Best Parastatal Executives

Water Resources Authority WRA CEO Mohammed Shurie has been ranked as the best performing parastatal executive according to a survey done by Microtrack Africa.

According to the survey that was conducted 20th August and 28th November, Shurie emerged the best with 75 percent followed closely by Rose Mkalama CEO Rural electrification and renewable energy who garnered 72 percent.

According to the survey, Shurie is credited for proper management of funds, launch of a very effective strategic plan among other things.

“ Our survey was focused on impactful CEOs. Mr Shurie is one of them. He has ensured proper management of funds at WRA as he also spearheaded the reclamation of Mwache dam,” reads a statement from Microtrack Africa.

During the recent floods, Shurie was also credited for timely updates that led to proper planning.

On her part, the survey ranks Mkalama for being the champion behind connectivity of electricity in almost every homestead in Kenya.

President William Ruto has been on the forefront ensuring that every home in Kenya has power through the efforts of Mkalama.

Micro and Small medium Enterprises MSEA CEO Henry Ridhaa came in third.

Kenya Ports Authority CEO Captain William Ruto came in 4th while Director-General Kenya Wildlife Service Erastus Kanga came in 5th.

Others who were among the top ten include: Esther Ngari, KEBS, Phillip Mainga Kenya railways and James tembur National Youth Service.

The pollster also ranked the average performing parastatals which include: Kenya Seed Company, Konza Technopolis Authority, National Drought management authority and Kenya Institute of Mass communication.
